“I believe that people should have a say about the outcomes that affect their own lives.”

- Joedy Thurston, mediator

Mediation and dispute resolution is a powerful tool. People are often the happiest when they are able to have control over how their problems are resolved. The whole process of getting in front of a judge and answering questions on the spot can be very stressful. Having a judge who does not know you and your situation make a decision on matters that have direct impact on your life also feels uncomfortable and disconcerting to many.

This is why I love mediation and became a mediator.

In mediation, no one is being “judged.”
In mediation, no one is forced to take a result that they do not agree with.
In mediation, everyone has the power to say “no” and has control over the outcomes that affect his or her life by accepting or reject the terms presented.

Mediation is a creative process that sets aside how the judge may rule and focuses on what really works for people. It can take as much time as the parties need with their mediator to work out a solution. No one is put on the spot. In many cases, people come out of mediation with some amount of resolution.

If you are looking for an alternative to traditional lawsuits, or even if you are involved in a pending lawsuit looking for a more amicable way to resolve your issues, mediation is for you.

I encourage you to contact me to set up your mediation session and experience first-hand what mediation can do for you!
